Frase VS Postpace VS Blogely VS Labrika

Which Tool is Better For Creating SEO Optimized Content?

Frase vs Blogely vs Postpace vs Labrika
All 4 tools are currently on lifetime deal right now with Frase leaving the Appsumo store on Cyber Monday.

Which tool can help you rank higher in Google?

Let’s discover together.

But before we begin, I’d like to point out that…

This Is An Unfair Review!

Yes.

Because among the 4, some focus solely on SEO, others more on content research.

But in this review I’m just going to talk about the tool that can create the best SEO optimized content.

Why?

I personally feel that this is the most important requirement.

If your article doesn’t rank on Google, how are people going to find your content?

Unless you have a following or an email list, you have practically 0 visibility.

Since you are going to spend time writing articles, might as well get it to rank on the 1st page of Google and get free organic traffic, right?

That’s why for me, SEO optimization is the MOST important factor I would use to determine my tool of choice.

For this comparison, I’ll be using an article from my Insurance blog.

It’s currently stuck on the #2 page of Google.

Which is good for us to use as case study.

Let’s start with Frase:

Frase

Fraise homepage
According to the website, Frase is able to help you create content that is aligned with user intent, ranks 1st on Google, and is usable by voice devices.

Looks like this can help my article rank higher

First, I’ll import my existing content and type in the keyword I want to focus on:

Frase topic score
Wait… What?!

According to Frase my score is already perfect.

In fact, it’s already better than my competition that is ranking #1.

Frase average topic score competition
The average score for the competition is at 67.5%.

But I’m at 100%!

So why am I not ranking on the 1st page of Google?

Is it because their content optimizer is not powerful enough?

Or perhaps the competition is strong and I can’t rank #1 with just good content. I might need backlinks too?

Anyway let’s check out their suggestions:

2020 11 29 14 57 33
Okay. According to Frase, maybe my article is over optimized with some keywords.

So I can try to cut it down and see if it helps.

There’s also a bunch of other keyword suggestions to add in to the article.

I could do that and see if it’ll help with the ranking

Frase keyword suggestions
This is pretty helpful.

Especially when you’re writing from scratch.

The list of keywords can give you an idea which direction to go.

And remind yourself to include the keywords as you write.

Now let’s look at Postpace.

Postpace

Postpace is a content writing research automation platform for SEO focused freelancers, writers, bloggers and content teams.
postpace homepage
The support tells me that Postpace is not designed for SEO content optimization.

But it does show vital content metrics of competing contents so that you can plan your content better.

So they are not positioning themselves as a SEO tool.

Instead they want to be the best in automating workflow for content marketers.

Let’s check out the SEO aspect of the tool anyway.

Postpace seo optimization
Postpace focus on the following metrics:
  • Word count
  • Readability
  • Keyword frequency

There’s also a rank and content length correlation graph:

Postpace correlation graph
This is somewhat helpful.

For example, you can see that the average content length for position #1 – 6 appears to be shorter than those from #7 – #12.

If Google prefers shorter content, then write shorter content!

But I won’t take this too seriously.

Just use it as a guideline.

Because those in position #1 – 5 could be a super authoritative website like a Government site, or a Wikipedia page.

Of course, they can rank #1 with a 500 word article.

But not you, my friend.

True to what we’ve expected, the SEO optimization aspect of Postpace is not very impressive.

But that’s understandable.

Afterall, they are not a content optimizer tool.

What about Blogely?

Blogely

From their site: Blogely is a software that helps you create, organize, plan, SEO optimize, improve, promote, and sell your content or use it to increase your website traffic.

Whoa. This sound like an all-in-one content marketing tool.

Cool.

Blogely homepage
First up, there is no way to import your existing content for optimization.

Perhaps they see no reason of doing that as the focus of the tool is not about content optimization.

So to check my article, I created an empty doc, fill up the keyword, and pasted the content in.

Let’s see.

Blogely seo optimization
To be honest, I’m a little disappointed.

Because there’s no SEO suggestions based on your competitor’s content.

These are just suggestions based on best practices.

There are lots of free tools that do this. Rank Math is one of the popular ones.

Would be better if Blogely can give SEO suggestions based on the top ranking pages in Google instead.

The founder appears to be very motivated to make this the best tool available. So maybe he’ll add this feature in future.

Let’s move on to Labrika.

Labrika

Labrika homepage
Labrika uses machine learning algorithm that analyses 200+ ranking factors and gives quick, actionable recommendations for increasing your traffic.

Compared to the rest, Labrika seems to be the only one that focuses on SEO optimization based on data.

I’m excited. Let’s try it out.

labrika content optimization
When you see confusing words like “Latent semantic”, you know this is a serious SEO tool.

And my score here makes more sense here than those given by Frase earlier.

Labrika content optimization score
Only 43/ 46.

No wonder I’m only on the 2nd page of Google.

Let’s see some of their recommendations

Labrika content suggestions
Looks like I’ve got many areas to work on.

As you can see in the image, those are the areas the machine learning algorithm looks into when comparing your site with the top 10 results in Google.

It’ll gives you suggestions based on how you perform against the competition.

Apply them and you should see your rankings climb.

Verdict

I can’t say for sure which recommendation from the 4 different tools can actually move the needle for your rankings.

Because It’ll take time to test, implement, and wait for Google to rank.

But just from the data gathered and judging from the technology used, I think I can make a pretty good prediction.

SEO Optimization Score:

Note: Not that Surfer SEO is the best and it’s 10/10. I’m using it as the gold standard here. If Surfer SEO is 10/10, this is how the rest compares against it.

Labrika is the winner here~

Not that the other tools are lousy.

But because Labrika is 100% a SEO tool.

If you need a content research tool, then Frase/ Blogely/ Posepace can complement Labrika pretty well too.

With features like workflow automation and direct posting, they can save you some serious time.

And if you don’t need an “advanced” content optimizer tool, then Frase may just be what you need.

I hope this review helps!

P.S. Even though Frase is leaving the store soon, Blogely, Posepace, and Labrika will be around for longer.

If you’d like me to compare other aspects of the tool like…

  • Content research capabilities
  • Easy to use (UX)
  • User interface
  • Working with writers
  • Sustainability of the tool
  • and others…
